The beautiful sandy beaches have facilities to provide safe holidays for children, two seaside piers, wonderful parkland and world famous gardens, big name shops and stores, theatres, cinemas, clubs and nightlife, cafes, restaurants, pubs and amusements - fish and chips too!
Pleasure boat trips will transfer you from the Pier, across Bournemouth Bay into Poole Harbour and Dorset Lakeland, around Brownsea Island where you can still find red squirrels, like Bill Oddy did on Autumnwatch, and Westward along the sunshine Dorset coast.
You will see dramatic chalk cliff scenery and rock stacks towering from the sea, and visit traditional seaside pleasure resorts of Swanage and Weymouth. Fancy a meal in France or a day in the Channel Islands? Take a cross channel ferry and enjoy rare delights.
The area offers many excellent golf courses and tennis courts. The Pavilion and Bournemouth Pier Theatre throw some of the most popular seaside shows, and annually there are exciting Christmas Pantomimes and New Year festivities.
Bournemouth is open all year round - the centre of excitement.
Fly high in the Balloon - see the fabulous view across to the Isle of Wight. Browse shopping arcades, relax at streetside cafes, stroll along the cliff tops and promenade or take the land train running between Boscombe and Bournemouth Piers, and on to Alum Chine where there is a superb children's playground right beside the sandy beach.
Summertime open top buses ferry you between Christchurch and Poole, or to Swanage via the Sandbanks Ferry. You may take the car or bike on the Ferry too.
Don't forget Candlelight in the Park - the children will love it during their holidays, and combine your evening with a round of crazy golf.
Play games on the beach, or just laze away the hours on the sands. Bournemouth has it all!
